The full line-up to Isle of Weight-based festival Bestival has been revealed. Curated by Rob Da Bank, the 3-day festival’s artists include My Bloody Valentine, Aphex Twin, The Breeders, Jamie Lidell, Fuck Buttons, Hot Chip, the Wedding Present and loads more. Punk-cover supergroup Me First and the Gimme Gimmies have announced an album entitled Have Another Ball containing 70s covers that were originally outtakes from their 1997 debut Have A Ball. The album will be released on bandmember Fat Mike’s record label Fat Wreck Chords.

Day tickets for Download Festival are being released on Friday. The traditionally metal-orientated festival at Donnington Park near East Midland Airport is headlined by Kiss, The Offspring and Lostprophets.

Coldplay’s free-to-download single Violet Hill has been downloaded 600,000 times in 24 hours despite some technical hitches. As we previously reported, Coldplay released the single as a free download from their site to promote their new album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.

Performing at Coachella Festival in the US, Roger Waters released a giant inflatable pig which went astray despite attempts to tether it, but has since been found in the desert in tatters. Two households will share the offered $10,000 reward and lifetime pass offered by the organisers. The pig contained messages supporting US democratic candidate hopeful Barack Obama, as well as the slogans “fear builds walls” and “don’t be led to the slaughter”.

The video to Fall Out Boy’s cover of Michael Jackson’s Beat It has appeared on YouTube. The single is from their live album ****: Live in Phoenix. The video stars both Donald Faison, best known as Turk from Scrubs, and Tony Hale, best known as Buster from Arrested Development.

Beck will play two UK shows prior to his appearance at the O2 Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, London. Southampton Guildhall on the July 1st, and the second at Manchester Apollo on July 2nd. Tickets are on sale now.

The complete lineup for the punk-orientated Leeds-based Slam Dunk Festival has been revealed. The indoors festival, now in its 3rd year, boasts 28 bands for a bargain £17.50. The lineup includes Cute Is What We Aim For, Boys Like Girls, Story of the Year, Fightstar, The Blackout, Big D & The Kids Table, Zebrahead, Random Hand, Sonic Boom Six, Valencia and more. The festival takes place Bank Holiday Sunday 25 May.

Coldplay have revealed the first single from their new album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. The song, Violet Hill, has been released as a free 192kbps MP3 download when you enter your e-mail into Coldplay’s official site. It will also be available as a 7″ single on the cover of everybody’s least favourite music magazine the NME in a forthcoming issue.

Less Than Jake have announced via drummer-songwriter Vinnie’s blog their seventh studio album, and their first since departing from Warner Bros Records. The 14-track album is entitled “GNV FLA”, named after their home city of Gainesville in Florida, and will be released on June 24th 2008 on the band’s own label Sleep It Off Records in the US and Cooking Vinyl Records in the UK.
